7 Days Gannan Zhagana Sacred Trekking Tour

D1: Lanzhou Arrival

Arrive in Lanzhou and check in the hotel we booked for you. The rest time is for you to relax and hang around on your own. If you want to, taking a stroll in the night market and trying the famous local cuisines （Lanzhou Lamen) will be an amzing experience! We will have a brief meeting at about 20:00 at hotel lobby so we can be prepared in advance!

D2: Lanzhou-Zhagana

We will depart after the breakfast and drive all the way to Zhagana. On the way, we will stop over at the Hezuo City so we can buy some goods in advance. In the afternoon, continue to proceed to the mysterious Zhgana, a village built at the food of mountains, which is also why Chinese people call it "Stone City".

Hotel: Dongwa Village Tibetan Guesthouse (twin room)

Altitude: 2931M

Activities: 480KM, 8h's drive

Note: Foreign travelers cannot stay inside Zhagana so we will stay in a guesthouse nearby instead.

D3: Zhagana-Niegandawa Holy Mountain- Stone Forest-Guanggai Mountain Pass-Jiaobuke Pass-Dongcai Camp

After breakfast, we will start the trekking. After a shot distance on the paved road, we will reach the gate of the canyon, which is called Jiana Stone Gate. After entering the canyon, the trekking route becomes wider. After 2 hours' trekking, we will reach the foot of Niegandawa Holy Mountain (3560m) and have lunch there as well. In the afternoon, proceed to trek eastwards via Zhagana Stone Forest. The altitude is getting higher and higher. After crossing Guanggai Mountain Pass, Jiabuke Pass and 1.5h's trekking, we will see the Dongcai Camp.

Altitude: 3640M

Activities: 17KM, 8h's trekking

D4: Dongcai Camp-Qinggaoke Pass-Baobeike Pass-Kalake Pass-Base Camp

Today we are going to trek across the highest point of the trekking route (Kalake Pass, 4140m), so be prepared. After breakfast, we will trek over 3 passes that's around 3800m-3950m. Afterwards, we will see a boundless pasture where many Tibetan yaks live. Continue to trek downwards for about 0.5 hour, we will reach the Qikena Mountain.

Camp: Base Camp

Altitude: 3580M

Activities: 13KM, 6-8h's treking

D5: Base Camp-Dabianshi-Anziku Pasture-Nomad Camp

Leave the Base Camp after breakfast and trek cross the creek. Then we will trek downwards to Dabianshi and Naizi Mountain. When you see lots of nomad's home, you reach the Anziku Pasture. Like the famous Shangri-la, peoplo and nature are perfectly blending together. Enjoy the paradise today!

Camp: Nomad Camp

Altitude: 3200M

Activities: 15KM, 6-8h's trekking

D6: Nomad Camp-Laohuzui-Guanyin Pass-Sanjiaoshi-Grand Canyon-Min County

After breakfast, today's trekking starts! Cross Laohuzui and reach Guanyinshi Camp. Continue trekking across the Guanyinshi Pass (3620m). We will reach the forest and later the destination Sanjiaoshi, from where we take the vehicle to Min County. Take a fresh shower and have a nice rest.

Activities: 10KM, 4.5h's trekking;90KM, 2.5h's drive

D7: Min County-Lanzhou

After breakfast, we will head back to Lanzhou. The tour ends at Lanzhou. If you need our help booking your hotel, please kindly inform us in advance. If you want to leave on the same date, we suggest you to book flight after 19:00 as we will reach Lanzhou at around 13:00. Considering the traffic condition, it's also recommended to leave on the next day.
