Day 1: Chengdu-Ya’an-Luding-Kangding-Zhonggu Village (3000m)
Today we will drive from Chengdu. Pass through the Erlang Tunnel (longest tunnel in China), reach the Dadu River (the deepest canyon in western Sichuan and go via Luding Bridge to the Zhonggu Village, where our local trekking leader resides. The road trip may take about 6 hours. Tonight we will be staying at his home (multiple Tibetan beds).
Day 2: Zhonggu Village (3000m)-Huacaopo (3500m)-Xindianzi Grassland (3600m)
After breakfast, we will pack ourselves and start the trekking. Today we will ascend gradually and slowly. After trekking about 4-5 hours, we will reach Xindianzi Grassland and camp.
Day 3: Xindianzi Grassland (3600m)-Yala Pass (4116m)-Jiemei Lake (4200m)-Yala Youcuo Lake (3800m)
Today you will be prepared because we will trek about 7 hours, climbing the Yala Pass for 2 hours and the highest altitude is 4300m. Get up early to enjoy the sunrise if weather permitting. walking through the lush forests, you will appreciate the natural beauty of the holy mountain. After Jiemei Lake, we will see the famous Yala Youcuo Lake from distance. To get close to the lake, we will trek another 1.5 hour and camp overnight by the lake.
Day 4: Yala Youcuo Lake (3800m) -Zhongbanchang (3570m)-Zhantai Valley (3400m)-Chengdu
Today we will trek about 2 hours to the Zhantai Valley and get back to Chengdu. On the way, we will walk on the mountain and enjoy the snow-capped peaks, passing the Zhara Holy Mountain and Donggu Hot Spring.
