Jiuzhai Valley and Horse Trekking 5 Days Tour

Day 1: Chengdu-Jiuzhai Valley

Today we will take flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhai Alley. Transfer to hotel and take good rest.

Day 2: Jiuzhai Valley

We'll have a full day to visit Jiuzhaigou National Park with crystal clear lakes, picturesque waterfalls, virgin forests, snow peaks and Tibetan villages to explore. In the afternoon, we will trek for 6.5km along the highlighted lakes. Our tour guide will organize a picnic by the lake (food cost is not included in package).

Five-Color Pool

Five-Color Pool, with the most abundant colors, is the smallest Haizi in Jiuzhai Valley. It reflects various colors under sunlight and different weather. Travelers are always astonished by its purity.

Long Lake

Located at the end of Zezhawa Valley, the crescent-shaped Long Lake is over 100 meters deep. It is at the highest altitude and has the widest surface area of all Jiuzhai Valley’s lakes. This is the highest point visitors will reach in the park. In winter the frozen surface ice can be as thick as 60cm.

Nuorilang Waterfall

Nuorilang Waterfall, with 270 meters' width, is one of the largest calcified and the widest waterfalls in China. The ending of Journey to the West (1986 version) was shoot here.

Shuzheng Lakes

Shuzheng Lakes consists of 19 lakes of varied sizes. Among these lakes, grow dense groves of willows, poplars, pines, spruces and other plants. This wonderful scenery is considered to be the “epitome of Jiuzhai Valley” and it is one of most popular sites in the park.

Double-dragon Lake

Through the crystal lake, you can see two long calcified reefs in the bottom, looking like two dragons hidden in the lake, thus, getting the name Double-dragon Lake.

Day 3: Huanglong Park-Chuanzhusi

Today we will visit the Huanglong National Park and walk along the hundreds of colorful lakes to the top along the wooden path. Huanglong Scenic Area is famous for its colorful lakes, snow-topped mountains, beautiful valleys and virgin forests. The area, inscribed on the list of World Heritage Sites in 1992 by UNESCO, has been called a "World Wonder" and “Fairy Land on Earth." After the sightseeing ends, we will head to Chuanzhusi and prepare for the horse trekking.

Day 4: Songpan Horse Trekking

Today, our horse trekking team will send a van to pick you up from hotel and drive a short distance to Songpan. Historically, Songpan functioned as a military base from the time of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Visitors will be impressed by the grand and ancient constructions before them. The city gates and city wall which was built in Tang Dynasty here have all been fairly well-preserved through the centuries. Today we will ride the horse in the small mountain road to a hill near the city, and this is also a part of Ancient-Tea horse trade road which connects Tibet and Sichuan in ancient time. After a tour in Songpan, our colleague will send you back to Songpan.

Day 5: Jiuzhai Valley-Chengdu

Today we will take flight back to Chengdu at noon, 3U8010, 12:20--13:15.Tour ends.
